Handler received her first big break in 2006, when she began running her own talk show for E! called The Chelsea Handler show. The Chelsea Handler Show lasted two years. Handler was a performer at the Comedy Central Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour in the United States following the season. VH1, Comedy Central Premium Blend (and HBO) have broadcast her live stand-ups. In 2010, it was announced that she would host the MTV Video Music Awards 2010. It was only the second woman ever to host the VMAs after Roseanne Bar.
